Westfield High School and Middle School held a student mock election on Monday October 28th for the upcoming Presidential elections.  In the past, student mock elections have been a strong indicator of the winner of the general election for our area.

Students in AP Government  helped to organize a school election.  Government students in Mrs Alcorta’s class created presentations that were given at lunch and answered questions for interested students.

Students also had to show a “voter ID” in order to cast a ballot.  Earlier this month, two presentations were given to the senior and junior classes.  The first presentation was about the electoral college, how and where to vote, and a special interactive presidential election trivia quiz was held.  The second presentation was given by our District Administrator Michelle Johnson who gave an overview and answered questions about the school financing question.

The student popular vote was 335-92 in favor of Donald Trump over Kamala Harris.

For the Senate race, Eric Hovde defeated Tammy Baldwin 253-114.  The school financing referendum that is on the ballot had 295 yes votes versus 160 no votes.
